Practice, practice, practice
Over the past few weeks I have been having a little practice thing with the Stevenson softball coaches. But because try outs are next Monday they have stopped practicing with us. Keeping in mind that try outs are this Monday, is getting me really nervous. My sister Jamie made Varsity softball her freshman year, and because she is my sister I have to try to live up to that. It is hard to make Varsity because they are many older students ahead of me, and sometimes the coaches base the team on age, rather than talent. So around the last week I have been scared, and wondering what is going to happen.

Dog love
I remember the first day i saw my dog, my dad and I were driving home from my pitching lessons and we got a call from my mom. Apparently she was at the pet store with my sisters looking for fish food, but they found out that there were puppies there, and they had to go and look at them as well.
On the phone my mom asked my dad if he wanted a new dog, since the first dog they had was before I was born. My dad said no, he loved his old dog, and he had the hardest job...to put her to sleep. My mom said that she really liked the dog, and wanted us to come down to see him, so since we were already on our way home we decided one more stop can't hurt.
When we got there and I saw him I fell in love with him. He has one blue eye, and one dark brown eye. He was so little he could fit in the palms of my hands. He had the cutest look I've ever seen. I knew that when my dad saw him, he thought the same thing everyone else in my family did.
So we filled out the paperwork to get him and of course you had to choose more than one, so we choose him first, then his sister who looked almost as cute, and then my oldest sisters second favorite. When we got the letter saying that we would get Louis, we were so excited. We kept trying to think of a new name, but none fit him except for Louis. We all didn't like how they spelled Louis, so we changed it to Lewis.
The day we were supposed to pick him up (Saturday) I asked my mom if I could invite my best friend over to come pick him up and see him, she said yes. My mom, my sister Jennifer, my friend Christina, and I went to pick up our new puppy. On our way home, I was the lucky one who got to hold him...or at least I thought I was lucky. He was whining the whole way home. When we finally got home I was relieved.
The first night was terrible. I was sleeping downstairs on our couch and he continued to wake me up with his whining. He was whining so much he woke my dad up, and he was upstairs. When i heard my dad come downstairs to sleep with Lewis, it made me want to too. So i pulled my blanket and pillow up by him and he cuddled me then fell asleep. Because it was only the weekend i had to go back to school on Monday.
While at school going home to play with Lewis was the only thing I could think about. after I made it through the school day and was able to go home, as soon as I walked in the door Lewis was there ready to greet me. He was jumping all over me, licking my hands with his cute little tongue. I knew that nothing could make me not love Lewis, he was my baby. (Even if he was my sisters and moms baby too).

Spring come soon!

Every year at the end of summer I'm always looking forward to winter, to go sledding, Snowboarding (and try my hardest not to run into a tree), and to just jump in the snow. This year was the same way. But when winter finally comes and the cold air hits I always want summer back. this year it seems like I've been waiting forever, and it's still not coming around.
Yesterday when it was actually kind of warm out, I realized that spring should be coming soon, that means no more snow, no more freezing cold days, and the leaves on the trees will return. Also i will be playing more of my favorite sport, softball. I said more because we are an all year round team, we play in a barn, or inside when it's cold out and when it's warm we finally go outside. I like playing outside better because it doesn't feel like an actual game unless we're outside playing on the field.
I love summer because
- Tanning
- Softball
- Schools almost out or is out
- Hanging out with friends
- Lots of free time
- Warm weather
- No need for coats
- Swimming
- Vacations
- Tons of softball tournaments
- Sisters come home from college
Talking about summer makes me want it to come even faster. I can't wait until I finally walk outside and feel that summer breeze and take a breathe of the summer air at last.
